ABOUT.
ZIYNE ABDO is a writer, director, photographer, and journalist residing in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts on May 2022 with her Bachelor's in Film and Television with honors and Journalism with honors. Born and raised in Minnesota's Twin Cities, her work explores community, youth empowerment, and Black culture. Her everyday personal experiences serve as the foundation of her artistic influences. Her work expands narrative and documentary that specifically center on Black life in all forms. With experience in various roles within film production. She dives into the mediums of both filmmaking and writing.
Abdo has held an internship with Inside Edition where she has numerous bylines. She has also worked for Bustle on the creative team where she produced a video for Elite Daily. In 2020 she served as an assistant to the documentary team at Firelight Media, a non-profit organization aiding filmmakers of color to develop their films.
Abdo is currently working on her narrative short film “being” coming out at the end of this year.
